Photo Walk October 2018:
Floridsdorfer Wasserpark

Dear Photo Walkers,
October is upon us, and with it the time for a new monthly photo walk! I’ve thought long and hard about it, and the topic is …. Floridsdorfer Wasserpark!
This month’s subject may seem a little surprising and random, but it’s in fact a deeply personal choice: I spent my early childhood (ages 4-8) in this park with my grandmother, feeding ducks, collecting peacock feathers, admiring intricate spiderwebs, and practicing presentations for primary school. Now, 23 years later, I’d like to revisit the park, and focus on water & reflections, nature, and the topic of Autumn. I don’t really know what to expect – but I’d love for you to join me, I’m sure we’ll be able to snap some nice shots together!
Details & General Info:
Date: Saturday, October 20th 2018 (to be moved to October 21st if the weather is bad)
Meeting Time: 11:00am
Meeting Place: in front of the restaurant “Wirtshaus Am Wasserpark”, located at Freytaggasse 1/14 (21st District). The closest ubahn station is “Wien Floridsdorf Bahnhof” (located 650 metres away, at Franz-Jonas-Platz).
What to bring:
– good sturdy walking shoes (hiking or good sneakers) as Autumn tends to be cold, muddy and slippery
– waterproof clothing just in case (NB: in case of horrible weather the walk will be postponed)
– warm clothing (scarves, hats, jumpers – whatever you need to be comfortable)
– your charged camera
– an SD card or film, and perhaps an extra battery
– cash (if you’d like a drink or a bite to eat afterwards) – we could stop by “Wirtshaus Am Wasserpark” (where we started), go to La Creperie (An der Oberen Alten Donau 6), or somewhere else.
Photo Contest:
We will be running a contest for the best voted image from this walk. More details about that later!
